The planet Earth

During this week, 4^th grade students  have been working in a science project.

First, we have looked into the planet Earth parts: the North and South Pole and its hemispheres.

Then, we have drawn the Earth and we have pointed the most important parts and the different imaginary lines that we have discovered.

Finally, we have done an extensive presentation to our classmates.

It has been so interesting and we have learned a lot.

They are definitely succeeding to become great scientists!

Science Project

Hello everybody! This time our project is about electricity and magnetism. As we have learnt a lot, we have decided to be inventors and make our own compasses. We made a compass so that we do not get lost anywhere and we have a useful object to use in case of need. We had a lot of fun creating something simple that seems so complex.

We are TV News reporters!

After finishing Unit 3, we became TV news reporters for a couple of weeks. We had to do some research about past and recent natural disasters, and then write the script for our TV news programme. It was our first hands-on experience with iPads and we enjoyed it so much! We hope we can use them again soon!

Restaurants English project

Hi there!

To conclude the last English unit about The picnic, in 3rd grade we decide to create our own restaurant in groups and design a different and creative menu for each one. This way, they put in practice all the vocabulary they knew about the food and they learned a new one. Here you can see some examples of the creative menus. We hope you like it!

5th Grade Science Ecosystems

Hi Science lovers!!

To finish the first term of Natural Science, each team has recreated a type of ecosystem inside a shoebox! Are you ready to travel?

We have explored the jungle diversity, the depth of the ocean and the calm of the desert among other types of ecosystems. 

As little dragonflies whose field of vision is nearly 360 degrees, we have looked at the mixture of living and non-living things of each of them and discovered the richness and beauty of our planet.

In 5th grade we have been working on two projects for the past couple of weeks. In the first project we had to find out what jobs each family member carried out and later create a bar graph with all the collected data. We had to explain in front of our classmates the conclusions drawn, along with the pros and cons of teamwork. 

The second project has been more fun, we've had to create a Kahoot! We've had to invent fifteen questions (and four possible answers for each!) about Ancient Rome. In the next class, we're going to play and have lots of fun. See you soon!

5th Grade Science - LIVING THINGS

Hello everybody!!!

We carried out another interesting project in science class! Each group chose a vertebrate and an invertebrate animal to show some important characteristics of each living thing, such as their bodies, how they breath, how they reproduce and we even added an interesting fact related to them that will surprise you! Did you know that octopus’ blood is blue or that 9000 species of sponges exist in the world?

Well, as you can see in the following photos, we love “learning by doing” with such visual projects!

5th Grade- Cell Project

Hello everyone!

In 5th grade we are learning things about the animal and the plant cells. For example, did you know that the cells are the smallest unit of life? In order to understand the cells as much as possible, we have created cells with playdough in groups, labelling its parts. Students have learnt in a meaningful way as well as they have spent a nice time with their classmates.
