OUR PRESENTATIONS

The students have made a presentation of the systems we have in our body. They are very professional! They have formed five groups and each group has worked a different system. They have used plasticine and colors to decorate. They have worked very well in groups :)

The students of 3rd have made a healthy menu. We have worked in groups of 4-5 people, have thought about the menu of a restaurant (invented) with their prices, starters, main courses, desserts, ... In addition, they could cut out images of supermarkets and hook food in the cardboard.

They liked it because they learned the importance of eating healthy foods and the need for super healthy restaurants! 

We are what we eat! :) 

DIAGRAM FOR SCIENCE

Today we made a diagram by filling in the gaps that were empty. The words were related to the topic we are working on: Our Systems. 

First, we worked individually and then we shared it with the partner. We like to learn about our nervous system, the locomotor system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system and the reproductive system! :)

Ens orientem amb "Google maps"

A quart estem aprenent a orientar-nos i desplaçar-nos I per fer-lo hem utilitzat l’Ipad i l’aplicació de “Google maps”. En grups, hem sabut trobar un destí i hem creat una ruta amb transport públic per anar des de l’escola a diferents llocs de Barcelona.

Doctors!

Our groups of seven year olds had a lot of fun pretending to be doctors. At one point,we had the same number of doctors and patients. The sick person stepped in with lots of “owies” that needed to be diagnosed and treated. We love to watch where their imaginations take them and we believe that pretend play is such a magical and important part of childhood and learning.

This morning some very special people paid us a visit, our e-Pals! They’ve come all the way from Liverpool (Anfield Road Primary School) and they’re staying in Barcelona until next Friday. First, we've introduced ourselves and then we've made some presentations about different topics so they get to know us and the school better. We've talked about the school, places to visit in Barcelona, the typical food and we’ve given them some tips to be good tourists as well. After that, we've have played a Kahoot! to check what they've learned!

We’ve also made a tour of the building and we've showed them the swimming pool, our classrooms, the dining room, the playground and so on. Finally, we’ve gone up to Sala Taronja and we’ve played some get-to-know-you games, it’s been a great day! We hope they come back soon!

Ens agrada molt llegir i també ens agrada molt ensenyar!!!

Les nenes i nens de 4t estem molt contents perquè estem ensenyant als nens i nenes de P5 a llegir. Ens ho passem molt bé amb ells!

Ens fan sentir responsables i esperem amb entusiasme el día per veure'ls. 

We are TV News reporters!

After finishing Unit 3, we became TV news reporters for a couple of weeks. We had to do some research about past and recent natural disasters, and then write the script for our TV news programme. It was our first hands-on experience with iPads and we enjoyed it so much! We hope we can use them again soon!

The human body

Hello again!

During these last 2 weeks, the 3rd graders have been working on a very special Science project. We drew a big human body and we filled it with all the organs of the systems we have been learning about in this unit. Each table was an expert group about one system and they had to create the parts and make some cards explaining the function of each organ. We have become expert scientists about the human body! Here you have some examples of the process and the results. Enjoy!

Restaurants English project

Hi there!

To conclude the last English unit about The picnic, in 3rd grade we decide to create our own restaurant in groups and design a different and creative menu for each one. This way, they put in practice all the vocabulary they knew about the food and they learned a new one. Here you can see some examples of the creative menus. We hope you like it!

Recently 4th grade students have been doing different projects in English.

On one hand, in Science we represented the Earth´s imaginary lines on a cardboard and we searched for information on the internet to write our own definitions. We discovered that the most common animals in the North Pole and the South Pole are polar bears, penguins and enormous whales!

On the other hand, in English we designed our own superhero! In groups of four we talked about the name of our new character, its superpowers, the special clothes and its weaknesses. Once we had the general idea of our character, we drew the superhero on a cardboard and we shared the information with the rest of the class.

THE BODY SYSTEMS

Hello everyone!! 

4th grade students explored the body systems, their parts and functions. They also recreated systems by using different materials and textures. 

We enjoyed it so much! Hope you like the pictures!

English Project a 3r : HAPPY PETS

During the last unit, we have talked about how to take care of our pets and we liked so much that we decided to do a project about it. 

Each child had to bring a picture of his pet and fill in an information chart using the grammar and the vocabulary we have been working on. 

To finish the project, we decided to play a game called "What pet am I?" in which they had to ask some questions to have enough information to guess which pet his friend was. 

It was a blast and they are looking forward for the next English project!

In 5th grade we have been working on two projects for the past couple of weeks. In the first project we had to find out what jobs each family member carried out and later create a bar graph with all the collected data. We had to explain in front of our classmates the conclusions drawn, along with the pros and cons of teamwork. 

The second project has been more fun, we've had to create a Kahoot! We've had to invent fifteen questions (and four possible answers for each!) about Ancient Rome. In the next class, we're going to play and have lots of fun. See you soon!
